FAQs
Why should I consider medication?
Sometimes therapy alone is not enough to find the relief you deserve. While therapy is an important first step, medication can be an effective tool in managing symptoms. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals. And if appropriate, medication is an important option to consider.
How does it work?
First, you'll provide information about what you've been experiencing in a personal history form. That way when we meet, I'll know what you've been going through as well as what you've tried that hasn't been helpful.
Then we will schedule a time to meet virtually where we will talk for about an hour. Once I understand your struggles, I can make recommendations about therapy and medication.
After that, we will meet periodically to see how you are responding to treatment and make any necessary changes.
How long will it take?
Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time it takes to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek treatment in the first place.
Some medications work right away. But most of the time it takes several weeks before you notice any benefit from medication.
